Preparing a renovated brownstone for move-in
Multi-floor townhouses bring their own challenges. A simple order of work makes the final clean go smoothly.

Brownstones are vertical homes. Dust travels up and down stairwells, so cleaning one floor while another is still being worked on usually means cleaning it twice.
Plan the final clean for after the last trade has finished and the punch list is complete. Start at the top floor and work down, finishing with the entry and stoop.
Original details such as plaster moldings, carved mantels and stair balusters need soft brushes and patience rather than force. They are often the first things guests notice.
