Why construction dust lingers long after the crew leaves

Fine dust settles in places a quick wipe never reaches. Here is where it hides and how it is removed properly.

Sanding, cutting and drywall work release particles fine enough to stay airborne for hours. When they finally settle, they land on every horizontal surface, inside cabinets, along trim and deep in vents.

A single pass rarely clears it. Dust that is wiped while the air is still carrying more simply returns. A proper post-construction clean works from the top of the room down, in stages, so each surface is cleaned after the dust above it has been removed.

Pay special attention to light fixtures, window tracks, door tops, cabinet interiors and the returns of your heating and cooling system. These are the places where dust shows up weeks later if they are skipped.
